Nurturing Mental Health: Daily Insights

                                       Reacting vs. Responding

You may have heard the saying, "It's not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters." However, I believe that both of these things matter. It can be stressful when someone offends us, betrays us, or disrupts our lives somehow. Our first instinct or default mode in these situations is usually to react quickly and emotionally without considering all the facts, leading us to behave in ways that could result in undesired consequences like broken relationships and increased stress.

Alternatively, we can choose to  RESPOND to life's daily stresses rather than REACT impulsively. When you RESPOND to stress, you act mindfully by first reflecting, discussing, or seeking assistance,  diminishing the impact of stress on your life.

Thank you for visiting my blog. I hope you will continue on this journey to better mental health with me.
